Food, Fellowship & Fundraising!

What a great time of food, fellowship, music, and fundraising at the Rachel Shelton Terry Scholarship Fundraiser on Saturday night! Thanks to everyone who came out and thanks for the generous giving! Your contributions will go the scholarship fund for a Dan River High School senior pursuing a degree in education – all to honor the memory of Rachel.

Praise God for the outpouring of love as we remember the life of this special young wife, mother, daughter, and friend!

Made to Crave: Begins April 4th

Life Groups are now forming in April and “Made to Crave” is one of our first groups to get started. These small groups are geared for men, women, and children who want to learn more about living a life that is fulfilling, rewarding, and most of all – that honors God!

Do you crave more food than you need? Maybe you crave chocolate, or steak, or ice cream. Or perhaps you crave something totally different. Craving often makes us spend more time doing one thing while we should be doing another – like eating mindlessly instead of being productive!

No matter what takes more of your time than it should, there is definitely one way to make a huge difference in your life.

CRAVE GOD instead!

Deborah Bass is leading the new “Made to Crave” Life Group which will meet in her home beginning April 4, 2016 from 6:30pm – 7:30pm for six (6) consecutive weeks. The class is based on Lysa Terkeurst’s bestseller, Made to Crave. It’s a journey that will help you learn how to focus on what’s most important in your life and turn away from the thing(s) that pull you away from a Christ-centered life.

This group is designed for women of any age. Although you may want to purchase a copy of the book, it is not necessary for the class. Deborah will provide all of the information you need – with God leading the way! She will also share stories of women who have succeeded in overcoming weight issues or other cravings that almost led to despair.

There is no fee to attend any of our Life Groups. Leaders volunteer their time and home.

Here’s how the group works:

  1. Group meetings begin promptly at 6:30pm and will end at exactly 7:30pm each Monday for six (6) weeks. We know you all have busy lives and it’s important to stay on schedule.
  2. Coffee and water will be provided – attendees are welcome to bring a snack to share (optional!) but please focus on healthy snacks that promote a healthy life!
  3. Come prepared to learn and be encouraged! And please bring a friend. Church members and non-members are welcome.
  4. Click here to register online – it only takes a few seconds. Don’t worry – if you change your mind and can’t attend, it’s okay. We just need an estimate of attendees to help our leaders prepare.

We look forward to seeing you on April 4th – come for fun and fellowship!

And don’t be surprised if you lose a few pounds with this group because you’ll learn to spend more time craving God instead of food!
